The Report

The innovation which has transformed my professional life in recent years is the computer. At the ADMC we have many things to make every time until the end of the day and the end of the course. All the time we use the laptop in our class to do many useful things such us uploading our home work, searching for some ideas, chatting with people around us, online staff, using the Google dictionary etc. In the past it was so hard for the student, teacher and people to study and learn things. Before they used the pen and paper to make their homework and do research. They also used the big books to get some information. In fact all those things were the same all around the world. When first I visited South Africa, it’s a very beautiful place and they have many natural forests. I lived in a small house near the airport. One day I went out to look for a computer shop so I started to ask people but they couldn’t understand English, so what I did was to show them the photo of the computer and they understood it. The people told me that it’s hard to find a computer shop, but you can find it in the exhibition. I went there and asked the man how much for one hour he told me it’s 1$. I told him that it was so expensive; he said yes because the computer shop here is rare. The students, when they want to do their homework, search in the books.

The history of the computer is very old. The first use of the word "computer" was recorded in 1613, referring to a person who carried out calculations, or computations, and the word continued to be used in that sense until the middle of the 20th century ( www.computer.org). The history of the modern computer begins with two separate technologies—automated calculation and programmability—but no single device can be identified as the earliest computer, partly because of the inconsistent application of that term. (http://en.wikipedia.org) In 1937 Alan Turing pioneered the idea of machines that could complete well defined tasks by being supplied with programs (http://www.buzzle.com/). When first the computer came it was so huge and very big that it needed at least one big room for it. From the end of the 19th century onwards, the whole world began to take a more familiar understanding, describing a machine that carries out computations.

Today the computer is all over the world. More than one billion persons use the computer every day. It helps them to chat with other people and to know about the news for your country and the other countries. The computer helps students do homework and some research. Also people use the computer for media to help them to make movies and some tracks in the picture. It helps also the companies that you can find your file easily and in a short time. Also it helps in travel that you can find tickets, hotels and you will know about important places that you will visit.
